Miss Abigail and Dylan Winter
Hi! I'm Miss Abigail and I'm the owner of Growing Organically Preschool. I'll also be one of your child's preschool teachers, staying closely connected with you every step of the way!
My journey began in the arts. I've always been drawn to creating, and I earned my bachelors degree in Fine arts from Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI (Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis). It wasn't until I became a mother 18 years ago that I discovered how deeply I love teaching children. Since then, with a CDA and over 16 years of experience, Iv'e dedicated my career to creating a warm, natural and engaging learning environment. I believe in nurturing children's natural creativity and helping them grow a deep, joyful love for learning.
When I'm not in the classroom you'll find me
spending time in Nature-something that keeps me grounded and inspires the curiosity and exploration I bring into my teachings. Besides spending time with my family, a few of my favorite activities include Paddle boarding, hiking, creating art, Yoga, connecting with community and leading moon ceremonies.
I'm truly excited to get to teach YOUR child and I can't wait to begin this journey with your family!
Hi! My name is Dylan! I'm the Lead teacher here at Growing Organically Preschool. I grew up in Kentucky and moved to Indiana 2 and a half years ago to become a social worker after getting my Bachelors degree in Sociology. I then transitioned to work at an early learning center, where I was the Lead Teacher for a class of 4 year olds. Through those, I discovered how much I especially love working with kids who have trauma-related behavioral issues. I am currently preparing to start my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, in hopes of starting a career with that specific population.
I met Abi through my fiancée, and absolutely loved the environment she has created for learning, and was lucky enough to be offered a position here. I greatly value working in an environment where kids get to learn in a fun and engaging way, and pour lots of time and energy into creating this atmosphere for the kids I work with.
I spend the rest of my time and energy mostly at home with my fiancée and our 4 cats. We love to do a multitude of crafts and puzzles, including crocheting, Legos, 3D puzzles, diamond paintings, and more. We also love to go thrifting, do yoga, and spend as much time outside as we can!
I look forward to the opportunity to be apart of each child's learning path that comes our way!

#7: All of our events are free!
To extend our learning we go on several field trips each year, and you get to join your child on them. We’ve gone to places like: the Zoo, Cabela’s, Apple Orchard, Police Station, Fire Station, Popcorn Store, Grocery Store, Taekwondo, Domino’s Pizza, Pumpkin Patch, and more! We’ll also celebrate special occasions with parties for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and your child’s birthday!
#8: Your child gets a shirt and portfolio!
Each year, your child will receive a different t-shirt for that school year to wear on Spirit Days. Some of our families have been with us so long they are t-shirt collectors! We also save some of your child’s artwork for a special portfolio you get at graduation.
#9: We help you preserve memories!
We offer you the opportunity to enrich your preschool experience by enjoying book orders, school pictures, class pictures, graduation pictures, cap ‘n gown pictures, and an end-of-the-year graduation video.
#10: We celebrate with graduation!
Bring your entire family to our yearly graduation where we celebrate your child's accomplishments in a big way! It'll be a night to remember! Your child will graduate every year, so be sure to bring your entire family for a fun family experience for free!

When should I call to register my child?
It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our spots fill up ridiculously fast!
When does preschool start? Can I enroll mid-year?
We are currently year round and you can enroll at anytime. If we have spots available, you can enroll. Please call us to see if we have any spots available.
How old does my child need to be to attend?
Our Preschool serves age 2-5. While preschool often begins at age 3, we welcome 2-year olds because our nurturing, play based environment supports early socialization, gentle routines and emotional growth-helping younger children transition naturally and confidently into the preschool years.
Does my child have to be potty trained?
No.
What is your teaching philosophy?
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of child led, and teacher-directed, hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Fundamentals Preschool Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
Are there additional fees during the year?
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program.
What if my child has food restrictions?
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.
Is the registration fee refundable?
No.
How many students do you have per class?
We have the smallest class sizes in town so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have 10 students per class.
